Building bridges has always involved both a figurative and concrete structure that impacts so much on people of different perspectives and providing a physical structure to carry the load in an expeditious manner.

The TPKP, with a lot of help from BNP Paribas of France, aims to promote rural development and agrarian reform that enhances productivity and income.

To date, 160 double-lane bridges have been built, with 11 more under construction and 15 more in the pre-construction stage.

This is a classic story of how two (2) front line agencies of government, namely, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) can make things happen to alleviate poverty among agrarian reform beneficiaries, other farmers, and the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) and Agrarian Reform Areas (ARAs).

The Php 18-Billion Foreign Assisted Project has been implemented for more than 10 years now and has given the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) the superstructure to bring their crops from the farms directly to major markets in the towns and cities.

Using the latest technology, the bridges were built using French Universal Bridge (Unibridge) Technology. The superstructure consisted of steel girders, deck panels, and railing posts, while its substructures were full-height reinforced concrete abutments founded on cast-in-place spread footings.
